Melissa Perrin lives a storied life. Whether she is listening to stories told by clients or other tellers on stage, she believes that stories have a saving grace. Melissa is a licensed Clinical Psychologist, Consultant, Teacher, Group Leader and Storyteller. Curiosity is one of the best gifts to give each other. Melissa believes that the stories we tell about ourselves defines who we are, for better or for worse and listening to each other’s stories provides connection, identity, camaraderie, context and rehearsal for self-understanding and next steps. Altering that story can be powerfully healing. In this fractured time, we must listen to where our connections are and are not happening. She has shared the stage with others in Backroom Stories, Homewood Stories, Story Con, First person Live, Chimera Loft and the Evanston Storytelling Festival. She hosts story circles and classes. Current queries she ponders: What are we speaking into the world? What are we co-creating with our words and assumptions?
We are who we are because we impact each other.
